Though many of us are spending quite a bit of time at home, it doesn’t mean we can’t explore the world. Many sites are offering virtual tours that allow you to sightsee from the comfort of your couch. Check out these resources and get ready to quench your wanderlust from our apartments in Wheeling.
Art, History, and Education
Locations from across the globe are now offering virtual tours. You can have an in-depth look at physical attractions through virtually guided tours offered by experts.
If art is your thing, you can travel via your electronic devices to see museums you’d normally have to book a plane ticket to see. The Louvre in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York have all put their collections on display for the world to see via virtual tour. Good Housekeeping Magazine maintains an up-to-date list of virtual tours.
Visit aquariums and zoos and hear from the experts who care for animals. The Atlanta Zoo offers a live webcam of its panda habitat while the Georgia Aquarium has a live webcam that allows you to visit African penguins and Beluga Whales whenever you’d like.
Enjoy Our Nation’s Parks
National parks may be temporarily closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy them. The National Park System is offering virtual tours of many national park sites. Visit the home of the founder and first president of the Red Cross, Clara Barton. Get an insider’s view of Bathhouse Row at Hot Springs National Park. You can even visit ruins at Virgin Islands National Park. All these virtual tours and more are offered at the National Park System website.
Staying at home doesn’t mean you have to miss out. We can still stay connected and engaged digitally until we can go visit these places in person. We are here for you during this time. Please contact us for more on the resources our community offers.
